A youth from Uttarakhand was on a bicycle for a desire to measure the world. He reached Kotdwar on Sunday late evening after his 93 days journey.
Kotdwar (Pauri), [Rohit Lakhera]: On the two wheels of the bicycle, dreaming of measuring the world, Pradip Rana resident of village Rithad of Garun block in Kumaon Mandal, arrived in Kotdwar on Sunday evening after a 93-day visit. Pradeep, who wants to enter the Guinness Book of Records, has planned to travel 20,000 kilometers in the next five months.
Pradeep Rana, native of Rithad village, is currently studying IT first year from Graphic Era Dehradun after intermediate meeting. When Pradeep was a student of class 10, he was fond of cycling. Due to the poor financial condition of the family, Pradeep bought an old cycle from the junk shop.
After repairing the same, in the year 2015, the village traveled to Bageshwar and Kathmandu. In 2016-17, when he took admission in IIT in Dehradun, one day he called his father to make a world record by cycling. Raja Bhatt, CEO of Ellora Capital in London and Champ Bhawan resident of Uttarakhand, came to know about Pradeep through Facebook, then he presented him a bicycle and laptop.
College students deposited some money and left them on Dehradun on May 23. Pradeep, 18, has so far traveled to several states including Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, Assam, Arunachal Pradesh, Nagaland, Meghalaya, Orissa, Kerala and Karnataka. Pradeep said that he decides to travel 100 to 150 kilometers daily by cycling. Told that he wants to break the record of Santosh Holi of Pune to register for the Guinness Book of World Records. Santosh had traveled 15,222 km in 110 days in the year 2015-16.
