About Dhanaulti

Dhanaulti is a hill station also known as Dhanolti, which is situated adjacent to Hill Queen, Mussoorie (Paharon Ki Rani). It is a hill station which is 24 km far away from the well-known hill station Mussoorie, and it is situated between Mussoorie and Chamba which is 29 km away from Dhanaulti. Every tourist who comes to Mussoorie for enjoying vacation also visits Dhanaulti because of its beautiful location, greenery and natural environment. The altitude of Dhanaulti is around 2286 m, 30°27 N 78°15 E and is well known for its flora and fauna and is also recognized for its dense lush green alpine forests of Deodar and Oak. The climate of Dhanaulti is pretty cool and its temperature ranges from32 °C to 37 °C during summers while winter temperatures remain between 7 °C and 1 °C. Dhanaulti is widely known for heavy snowfall in the month of December and January, that’s why there is a huge rush of most of the tourists in this place during winters.
Dhanaulti has evolved itself as one of the best tourist destinations for people residing in Delhi and NCR region as it is easily approachable through trains, buses and taxis till Dehradun and then to Dhanaulti. Just like popular hill stations such as Manali, Shimla, Nainital, Mussoorie, Ooty, etc. Dhanaulti is also making its presence and importance among vacationers who love to travel during their holidays. This place is gaining its popularity because the current generation travelers in India are now looking for newer and small but peaceful destinations so that they can spend some of their time separated from their hectic and stressful daily working life. Vacationers can visit at any time to Dhanaulti all over the year due to its cool and pleasant atmosphere. On the way to Dhanaulti from Dehradun, there are various small shops including several Maggie Points, Dhabas and Adrak Tea Stalls owned by local people who worked with full dignity and serve tourists as their God because Uttarakhand people believe in “Atithi Devo Bhave”.

These hotels and resorts provide good accommodation along with multi-cuisine and north Indian food. People can also look for economical food in small Dhabas and restaurants.

Places to Visit in Dhanaulti

There are many places situated near Dhanaulti which are beautiful and are known for their natural beauty, peaceful environment and these places include ECO-Park, Kanatal, Surkanda Devi Temple, etc.
ECO-Park: Eco-Park is mainly situated within Dhanaulti and is considered as the main attraction in Dhanaulti. There are two Eco-parks in Dhanaulti specifically named “Amber” and “Dhara” which are about 200 m apart. It was developed recently by the Forest Department of Uttarakhand and the local youths are taking of this natural place.

Kanatal: It is situated around 15 km away from Dhanaulti, Kanatal is emerging as one of the most attractive tourist destinations nearby Dhanaulti and is located on Mussoorie – Chamba Road which comes under District Tehri of Uttarakhand state.

Surkanda Devi Temple – This temple is situated at around 8 km (5.0 miles) from Dhanaulti, on the road towards Chamba which is famous for its Ganga Dussehra fair in autumn. This temple is a part of Devi Darshan and has huge importance among the pilgrimages.
